How To Ask Clients For A Google Review
Many of my clients are small businesses run by individuals who admittedly describe themselves as not the most tech savvy. So when it comes to asking them to leave a nice review for you on Google, they may often say something like,
Mike, your awesome and I love working with your company, but as you know I’m not the most tech savvy person but would absolutely refer you to anyone.
While this may feel really good to hear from your client, it unfortunately doesn’t provide the kind of social proof you need these days to improve your SEO or let others online know about the amazing work you have done. Therefor, in an effort to make things a little easier for your clients and simplify the process, I am happy to provide you with a simple 5 step approach to asking clients for a Google review.
5 Steps To Asking A Client For a Google Review
1. Search for your company by name in Google.
2. Click on the button “Write a review”.
Click on write Google review
3. Copy the URL from your address bar
You’ll see a Google review box has popped up, copy the URL out of the address bar.
4. Shorten your Google review URL.
Shorten the URL so it’s a bit more user-friendly. I recommend using https://bitly.com/. Copy and paste your long URL into the provided text box and click “shorten”.
Now you will have a simple short URL you can send to clients that will send them directly to leave a review on your Google My Business page.
5. Send to your clients and start getting Google reviews.
Now you’ll want to copy this URL and paste it into an email for sending out to all of your clients.
